Russia has charged four men for attacking a concert hall in Moscow where at least 137 people were killed. The attackers, claimed to be linked to the Islamic State group, were brought to court. The Russian officials accused Ukraine without proof, but Ukraine denied involvement.

The four men are Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni, and Muhammadsobir Fayzov. They were shown in court with injuries, allegedly from beatings during interrogation. Some had severe injuries, like a partially severed ear and swollen face.

Mirzoyev admitted guilt, as did Rachabalizoda. They are from Tajikistan and will remain in custody until at least May 22.

The attack occurred during a rock concert in Moscow’s suburb, Krasnogorsk. The gunmen killed many people and caused chaos. The attackers were arrested in Bryansk, southwest of Moscow, hours after the incident.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility and released a video of the attack. Russian officials accused Ukraine, but Ukraine denied involvement. The US said IS was solely responsible.

Seven others were arrested for allegedly aiding the attack. This attack is not the first time IS has targeted Russia. They previously claimed attacks in Egypt and St Petersburg.

IS-K, a branch of IS, operates in Afghanistan and Central Asia. They have criticized Russian President Putin in their propaganda.
