Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam said that the recent training camp at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul was very helpful for the players. He mentioned that it strengthened their unity and made them better athletes in terms of fitness and mental toughness.
The camp, organized with the army’s help, aimed to prepare players for upcoming matches like the T20 series against New Zealand and the T20 World Cup. It involved 29 players, including Babar, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Imad Wasim, and Mohammad Amir.
The players underwent various training and drills led by army experts to enhance their fitness, agility, leadership, and overall performance. Babar mentioned that this was his third such camp and each time he learned something new. Unlike previous camps focused on cricket, this one emphasized physical conditioning, teamwork, and mental resilience.
The players engaged in team-building activities, shared rooms to bond better, and had discussions on strategic planning, opponent analysis, and cricket innovations. They believe this camp will reduce injury risks and improve individual and team performance in upcoming matches. Other players also praised the camp for its focus on fitness and its potential benefits in match situations.
