Ukraine said on Saturday that Russian attacks overnight and in the morning killed two older people in the eastern town of Krasnogorivka. They’re urging people still there to leave.
Krasnogorivka is right on the frontline in the eastern Donetsk region. More than half of this area is controlled by Russian forces and is an active war zone.
During the night and morning, the town was hit by enemy fire. A 70-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man were killed, according to Vadym Filashkin, the head of Donetsk region, on social media.
Krasnogorivka has been on the frontline for 10 years and is still very dangerous. People are urged not to stay there and to evacuate to avoid risking their lives.
Recently, Ukrainian forces have been facing tough battles in the east. They’re running low on ammunition, and Russia keeps launching airstrikes. According to Ukraine’s new top military leader, Oleksandr Syrsky, Russia is six times stronger on the front lines, causing Ukraine to lose troops and positions.
